First I've heard of it. I wonder if this is something they're primarily building for SQ42, which is why it's never been on the roadmap.
If that's the case, I can see it being used in Star Marine, where the damage doesn't have to persist long-term. But I don't see it working for the PU.
CIG has put good effort into making shops be destructible in the best ways that they can, so it makes sense that they would be working on a T2 or T2 version of all that.
I think ships will always have specific segments that break apart, so I'm really curious to know more about what exactly this "maelstrom" is. Maybe now that Sean talked about it, they'll release a more detailed overview.
