Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

It's useful when you're done with a post or comment, but I don't see how to do it in Jerboa or in Lemmy general. Is this possible? If not, is there energy behind this feature?

I don't use it, but the option is there in settings to hide read posts since I started using jerboa months ago, so I'm assuming it works okay

I just want to be able to mark a post as read without voting either way. Sometimes I just don't "get" the post but there is no other way to get it out of my feed without voting on it.

Manually hiding posts is something that needs to be in the lemmy back-end first. See https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/1403

It’s in the main settings in the web UI, hide read posts.

IMHO, that feature is very broken. It hides read posts pretty much everywhere (except saved posts I think). That means you can't see your own posts, can't see pinned posts/mega-threads, etc.

I agree. I use in-app settings in any app that offers it. Currently Voyager and Arctic.
