when things get too real for me_irl

For relatable posts that are too real for !me_irl. Meaning jokes/posts about mental health issues and self deprecating humour.

This is a subreddit for memes that hit too close to home or are too real for communities like !me_irl

If you have depression, talk to a therapist, it really does help. You are not alone, and recovery is possible and worth it.

If you find jokes about suicide, depression or self harm upsetting, this sub might not be the right place for you. This is a place for people who use self deprecating humor as a coping mechanism, not for those making fun of mental illness.

With that out of the way, the rules are as follows:

Make others share your anxieties and sell them insurances

Social interaction insurance. If you mess up a conversation uhh you get a refund? I think this only works for social anxiety when you can't get yourself to say something that would save you money.

The tricky part is the hustle. Figuring out a way to manipulate people into purchasing our goods and services.

Try this:

"ANXIETY SALE! HALF PRICE!"

People might like the idea of cutting anxiety in half somehow 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just don't tell them it's only for your benefit, not theirs.

Get a job in cable news.

But don't, actually. Getting a job necessitates a job interview, which is a high stakes conversation that will give you a panic attack.

Instead, get comfortable at your current, toxic job that doesn't meet your needs. Better the devil you know than a whole new scary job and application process.
