The inscription on Gimli's artwork reads as follows: Balin son of Fundin Lord of Moria. Followed by the battle-cry: Baruk Khazâd! Khazâd ai-mênu! Which means the axes of the dwarves! The dwarves are upon you! The inscription for Legolas is a transliteration of "you would die before your stroke fell" into tengwar
