Honestly, if 25W charging is the biggest gripe they have, then this seems like a solid choice.

Sure, it might take a while for the 5000 mAh battery to charge, but it's also a 5000 mAh battery. It will take a while to discharge. Plus I'm sure most people charge their phone overnight. And you can easily fill that capacity with simply a 5 Watt charger while you sleep.
Plus the slower charge rate will protect your battery even longer.

Furthermore, in the past 15 years of owning cell phones, not once have I needed to charge it in an absurdly short period of time. I guess I just don't understand why it's such a big issue or selling point.

I opened the article because of that. It takes 1 hour and 15 minutes to fully charge. Is that really so disappointing to someone? Feels fine to me. I'm more disappointed it doesn't have a headphone jack again.

It is when you experience true fast charging. Having a full battery in 30-50mins vs 75mins or higher.

Since nowadays phones can hold charge for more than one day, I've been charging my phone only when I'm going somewhere or the battery is under 20% and I notice it. I never put the phone in the charger for a night. With quicker charging I can throw my phone to charge while I get ready to go and there will be enough juice for the night. With slower charging it's not possible to get a quick charge so you are forced to charge over night.

It's not a big deal until it is. Other competing smartphones support higher charging speeds ranging from 67w to 120w. Which is just 30-50mins.

I used to slow charge at night. But, since getting a phone with actual fast charging I don't need to. A 15-30mins charge is enough to last the day while heading out. Plus, not needing to worry about charging your phone overnight.

Considering the A series line is the budget line, that's a really beefy phone and a huge spec bump! A full charge in an hour and 15 minutes isn't even bad lol. I think the article put too much emphasis on decent charging speeds. Sounds like an amazing phone at that price point, assuming it's around the same price as the A54 right now which is $375 on sale, or $450 at full price.
