I support this, but we need to be careful: Portland legalized pretty much everything, and now it's making the New York Times about how awful things have become with an overwhelming population of addicts living in the streets.
Yes, let's make these substances available for therapeutic treatments, but there needs to be wide-scale recovery treatment available before this gets underway so we don't get a flood of people looking for LSD/E paradise.
They didn’t legalize anything, they decriminalized it. The result was pushing addicts into public view, yes, but it also makes it easier to help them. Also, correlation isn’t causation.
