Pretty poorly, living costs went through the roof, poverty with it, labour laws are getting gutted, and so on, typically for IMF shock therapy. Oh, and ancaps are already calling Milei "socialist".

ancaps are already calling Milei “socialist”.

Man, their definition of socialist really is just "someone I don't like", isn't it?

[–] [email protected] 20 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I've seen quite a few calling him socialist because his government has arrested people, lol

The fuck kinda logic is that?!

Yes. They are exactly the same as our ultras in that any attept at real libertarianism by definition must be either perfect and successful or old and propagandised enough for them to idealise it (like what Thatcher and Pinochet did).
Milei promised and they expected libertarian success, but he's clearly not delivering, which (since libertarianism is by definition perfect, everything other is just socialism) two things:

  • Milei not did enough libertarianism, so he also did some socialism, ergo he's a dirty socialist traitor
  • Milei did the libertarianism wrong, ergo he's a dirty socialist traitor

The formerly exuberant Milei posters on my feed have gone silent so I assume it's going poorly.

Have they gotten to the "He's not really an ancap, he was a (insert country they hate here) plant to make ancap ideas look bad!" stage yet?

[–] [email protected] 20 points 7 months ago

Maybe? They just like don't post about him at all anymore. They went from cooing and sharing articles about his policy goals full of excitement to just radio silence lmfao

Awful, and its going to get worse. Something that is rarely mentioned is that a huge plague hit grain production in Argentina and it could impact about 20% of the grain production, argentina being a primarily agricultural country, this is going to cause even more poverty.

not great, last I've checked poverty has hit 50% of population, and some middleclass people is losing their homes.

this dude will either go out mussolini style or be a refugee on miami.

I guarantee you that he ends up in Miami, tho lets hope he ends up mussolini style.

His honeymoon with the average Argie is gone, his drop in popularity has been so rampant that many fear will trigger something to have him removed by force before the end of his presidency.

from r/anarcho_capatilism, posted 11 days ago. A lot of ancaps seem to be deluding themselves into thinking the economy is actually great in Argentina right now.

I have a friend who lives in Argentina, and he's definitely feeling the instability.

Ok who was gonna tell me 13 year old Javier Milei was in an A24 film?
