Hi lemmys! My next door neighbour is driving me crazy. They started at 10:30AM and you can hear them through closed doors and windows, and two brick walls. They have enough brain cells to understand “turn it down”. Any ideas to deal/screw with them?

Ideas like frozen pee through letterbox are also appreciated :) Edit: I meant this as a joke. I’m not going to do that

I know this sounds extreme, but have you considered.... Talking to them?

[–] jaykay 11 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Yes, I did. I’m still here 3h later, listening to their music. It’s the type of people that lock each other out of the house, and you can hear them „open the fucking door”. There was a gas leak and the we were told to evacuate the neighbours, they told us that they need to take shower first, and they evacuated 30 mins later

Well for shit like that you can call the cops and report a domestic disturbance

[–] jaykay 5 points 7 months ago

Next time I’ll do that

You come across way worse than your neighbours in this post.

Yeah I’m probably overreacting a bit, but it’s so annoying cos it’s like a full on concert next door. I’m in my living room and I hear them more than my TV

Holy fuck, your neighbors have shit taste in music.

My neighbors listen to great music. Whether they like it or not.

+1 because their freedom stops where it encroaches on your rights. There's 0 reasons they should be blasting the neighborhood with music of any kind, which from the sounds of it seems like it's purely done to be a nuisance.

Have you tried talking to them?

Or are you like my passive aggressive roommate and just think "they should know better so now I have the right to punish them however I deem necessary"?

Walk around your complex doing things like trying to bite your own ear or use invisible deoderant. The next time they make noise, go over and address them as Nordic royalty, thank them for their invitation, and offer them a herring from the carry on luggage you brought with you. They will do whatever to keep you away.

Or you could talk to them.

Or actually pee in their stuff. Preferably an AC unit. What kind of psychopath ruins a perfectly good ice cube tray by pissing in it? Jesus. Have some self respect

Ever tried making techno on your pc? There's also great apps for that.

I mean after talking to them, writing a clear letter, and going to the police.
