I'm liking it so far, there aren't a lot of reverse isekais.

So true. I actually like the reverse isekai. I honestly thought from when I first put it on it was going to go the route of him being reborn into the same world. And I thought it was going to be the Calamity killer or whatever his name is. Not who the MC ended up being. So I enjoy that things took a different turn.
I have been following it and I like it.
I would say it is a bit confusing story-wise as we don't know how some things are connected yet but I guess we will find out in the second part.
I love it! It feels like a Checkov's minigun firing smaller Checkov's pistols.
I don't know how it all ties together yet but I'm excited to find out. I'm guessing the reason you feel like something's off is probably because there are multiple disconnected threads that don't cleanly fit together, and that makes it seem a bit... scattered?
Durarara also gave me the same vibe (it's by the same author) since it also started seemingly scattered and then each plot thread collided in the latter half of the season.
I made a couple of posts about it here as well. Hopefully there will be more active discussion threads for future episodes.
I'm liking it, it's very interesting.
All Narita works take some time to click because of the big casts, but when you are familiar with the characters and their motivations it really starts going.
