I had no idea this was a thing :D I'm reading now a push pin can be used as well. Very mildly interesting!

Sometimes eggs crack when you boil them due to built up pressure, if you prick the shell first with a small pin prick it relieves the pressure (but the hole isn’t big enough for water to get into the egg).

Ooooh! I just figured I dropped em in the pan too hard! Thanks for the tip, I'm gonna try this with a sewing needle
