The only surprise is that they were finally caught. Industry wide inflation of gas prices always “coincides” with Democrats in office. It propels the false narrative that the President sets prices at the pumps. Big oil obviously prefers a Republican in office, repealing those pesky regulations.

I've since bought an EV (not a tesla) so the joke is on them. I now laugh at the oil companies every time they raise prices trying to squeeze money out of people.

It's not a perfect solution (I'm still trying to bike to places not far from me), but it's progress and it's freeing not having to stress about gas prices anymore! Volvo Recharge ftw!

No the joke is still on us. The price of oil feeds into so many things we buy. A hike in the price of oil affects basically everything, not just personal transport.

Not really. When we moved off the gold standard we moved to the oil standard. Just like oil we control the supply of currency. By controlling both they control oil prices, which in turn determines the price of everything else - food, automotive glass, electronics… all created by and transported by oil.
