FlorisBoard, hands down. I have tried many keyboards since maybe 2013, and FlorisBoard is the best one yet. It is privacy friendly too.

Trying this out it's pretty good so far

I like it. Missing auto correct is an issue, though. Will watch it. 😃

AOSP keyboard. No muss no fuss. KISS

Hold your 'Maters!

I genuinely enjoy GBoard. Now; I get it. It's not for everyone and it hasn't got the best...track record.

It does actually surprisingly work very well; and I have yet to see anyone on the FLOSS/F-Droid side of things manage to create a keyboard with similar functionalities. I get that it may be an impossible ask, but it seems like nobody on F-Droid is interested in creating a keyboard inspired by GBoard that actually has all the similar QoL features that GBoard offers.

I think people don't like it bc it's made by Google. They are definitely tracking everything typed on it lol

I've used AnySoftKeyboard for ages as it's infinitely customizable while also fully respects privacy. But it does take time to dial in every component. I give the Graphene keyboard a go every now and again, but AnySoftKeyboard is still my go to.

I have it installed, but miss some minor features. Swipe left to delete, to begin with. Hold to move cursor. Such small quality of life features. Or am I missing them?

As of 2019, the swipe to delete was an option labeled "Back-word" but a name change was being discussed. There's also an option to move the cursor after holding the space bar too, just not sure of the name but it should be somewhere in the settings.

Thanks. Will go through the settings again. Will definitely give it a spin. Am typing this mesaage with that keyboard. 👍

And another one. Does anyone have any experience with Typewise?

I have a Galaxy Fold 4 so I have both Swiftkey and Swiftkey Beta installed and use a Tasker profile to set the default keyboard to one or the other depending if I'm using the inner or outer screen. I did this so I could have a split keyboard when I'm using the inner screen (because I'm holding the phone with 2 hands and it's easier to type this way) and the regular keyboard when I'm using the outer screen. It was a little finicky to set up but truthfully I have become so used to it that I honestly forgot that I had 2 different keyboards until I started thinking about it because of this post.

Gboard with its access to the internet blocked via RethinkDNS.

I use Gboard now. I was a long time Swiftkey user but when they added the Bing button and I couldn't remove it I switched.

Found an interesting one.

Irregular Expressions

More of a 🅂🄿🄴🄲🄸🄵🄸🄲 use case.

I just use openboard lol

Does anyone have thoughts on Fleksy? Hasn't been updated in a long time, but typing is quite fast on it. Autocorrect works exceedingly well.

openboard is great. No network access, can resize it nicely, up to date emojis unlike some stock keyboards, available in F-Droid.

I enjoy how I can delete a selection via the backspace key. I miss swipe to delete the last word. Or am I missing this?

I'm still using Minuum Keyboard. I think that QWERTY on a touchscreen keyboard is counter intuitive, slow and cumbersome. I wish more keyboards adopted single line keyboard layouts with fuzzy typing.

I forgot about Minuum! Is that still under development?

Edit: last update was 2017. Disappointing. Now this could be an interesting FOSS project!

Honestly, if someone would clone it and open source of... 🤤
