20 years ago our cat fell out of our workshop's ceiling and we decided to keep it. True story.

What dimension do I need to travel to where cats just fall out of the ceiling? I had to fill out paperwork and adopt my cats just like any other animal.
We found a kitten in our garage wedged behind some cabinets that required us to half dismantle the garage. Would have preferred he fell through the ceiling. He's wonderful.
even in adoption, cats manage to be the most adorable shitheads in the world
There is an example from the x-post on [email protected]:
This hits home. I have a kitten on my lap right now that my daughter found on the side of the road yesterday... we think she's about 6-8 weeks old. (...)
EDIT: And another one:
Totally true lmao. Its how I got my cat Chevy. He was found as a kitten by my Uncle on the tire of my Grandfathers Chevy. Years later the same Uncle found another kitten on the axle of his car, he named it Axle. He also named Chevy. He is definitely creative with naming cats.
Lol that's me. We already have 6 formally stray cats, this little girl makes number 7. Gimme a few minutes and I'll toss up a pic of the little furball.

A few places have so many stray cats that if you want one you can go outside and grab one (after checking it for a collar or chip). That's what this comic is referencing.
My daughter picked up a kitten yesterday off the side of a gravel road that looks like she got dumped there. There's also two families of strays near my house that I've been working on becoming friends with... they won't all let me pet them yet, but we're working on it.
Go to the countryside, cats are everywhere out here. (This is in Canada, but I'm sure it's the same in a lot of places.)
A lot of people find them as strays. I've never had to adopt any of my cats, they all just showed up in my life at some point lol.
Not quite out the roof, but I had on cat that climbed into my apartment and now it lived there (I did check if someone owned it).
I guess it heavily depends on where you live. Where I live there are zero stray cats just wandering the streets. The shelter I got one of my cats from actually did have a ton of former strays, which really surprised me, but that shelter is smack dab in the middle of a pretty rural area and there you'll have some. But definitely not in the cities.
Ceiling cats are pretty rare but if you live in a populated area, keep an eye on the trash. I found a Li Hua kitten in my dumpster and I have three friends who are raising their own dumpster kitties. Seems pretty common in major cities and suburbs.
Just set a bowl of cat food outside. You'll have a cat soon enough.
Or a raccoon. Either way, new pet.
I call the big one Bitey
Ah, true. I've ended up with opossums more often than raccoons, though.
I get aggressive ravens.
Mom did this and ended up with a pack of squirrel 🐿️. Hey wait a minute (your username)..
Lol there's been a stray cat living in my apartments courtyard. My fiance saw it from our window and was slike "Hey a cat! If she comes to me can we keep it?" And I was like hell yeah, it's a free cat.
She did not catch the cat :(
This is because the best kitties choose the best humans for them. Mine jumped out of a dumpster into my arms instead of a ceiling.
My mom's last cat just sorta walked up to the door on the middle of raining and started yelling. Yeah, cats distribute themselves.
The cat chooses you.
You are the Chosen One!
The Cat Distribution System is always working overtime.
At least two of our cats just kinda fell into our lives. One we found abandoned as a kitten by the levy. The other just kept walking into our house, hanging out on our porch, and sleeping in our garage, and we never found who the original owner was.
Ah yes.
Ceiling Cat was annoyed that the girl was reading a book.
This was made by someone whos never had a dog, bc dogs fuck your stuff up 1000x a cat.
It’s not about how they fuck up your stuff, it’s about how cats just randomly show up in your life whereas dogs have to be consciously and actively adopted.
Opposite experience for me.
