413 Payload Too Large The request is larger than the server is willing or able to process. Previously called "Request Entity Too Large".[16]: §10.4.14

Right but a 2.2mb picture? How small does it need to be.

I don't know. It hasn't been working most of the time and as far as I know, most of us use a third party like catbox.moe. 2.2 is a lot for forever storage given the big picture. Converting to a webp or downsizing/cropping is usually possible. Someone has to pay for the hosting service. catbox is just another human, as are these instances. Best practice is to leave as little of a footprint as possible.

Someone pointed out to me the other day it can be adjusted by the instance you're uploading to and it's incredibly small by default.

Where are you trying to upload the image? Cuz another thing I wonder may be happening is if you're trying to upload to Lemmy.world from your Lemmy.ml account since Lemmy.World defederated from Lemmy.ml it might just block anything you try to upload. Unless they reversed that? You're able to post this here so idk.

Lemmy.ml is on the linked instances list as federated? https://lemmy.world/instances

If that doesn't work out, upload to a 3rd party, like catbox.moe and post a link instead.
