With yesterdays game 4 loss to the Celtics the Pacers are swept out of the playoffs. Let's see how their offseason is shaping up.

Outlook

While disappointing to end in a sweep, the Pacers getting to the conference finals is better than anyone could have thought going into this season. Injuries to Tyrese and Mathurin hurt them a bit in the playoffs but they did benefit from major injuries to the Bucks and Knicks.

The biggest focus of the offseason will be re-signing Siakam who reportedly will be looking for a max. They Pacers acquired his bird rights in the trade so they should be able to keep him.

After that the Pacers will likely look to make improvements to their terrible defense in order to try and make another deep run next year. They brought in Siakam to help a bit with that but more will need to be done to bring the defense to a respectable level. They still have most of their draft picks to include in a trade should they feel they need to go that route.

The rest of the east looks to be better next year either through health (Bucks and Knicks) or through free agency/trades (76ers), so while they can be happy with the success they had this year they can't stand pat and expect the same results next year. Tyrese, Siakam, and Turner should be a solid core for the foreseeable future but the ceiling for this team will depend on what players the Pacers are able to surround those 3 with.

I enjoyed these write ups. Was there ever one for the Thunder or did I just miss it?

Nah I missed the Cavs and Thunder, I’m planning on doing them in the next couple days if no one else wants to jump in. Still gotta finish up a lot of the non playoff teams as well.

OK cool. No worries. Thanks!

I’m a homer so I can’t write Thunder in good faith.
