4. Ad hominem attacks
Any kind of personal attacks are expressly forbidden. If you can't argue your position without attacking a person's character, you already lost the argument.
5. Off-topic tangents
Stay on topic. Keep it relevant.
6. Instance rules may apply
If something is not covered by community rules, but are against lemmy.zip instance rules, they will be enforced.

It doesn't seem fair to promote what Threads are doing. Many of us are contributing to the development of social media sites for their own amusement and in their spare time, and it can feel like we're supposed to compete with a room full of full-time professional coders, whose product has only a tenuous, one-way, connection to Fediverse anyway.
Fuck Meta, stop promoting Threads.
