I keep getting adverts for it with people like Simon Cowell, Olly Murs, Take That etc advertising it.

First of all, why would they do it when they've already got millions in the bank?

Secondly, it's exactly the same as Candy Crush and all the other identical games, so why is it so popular?

And finally, wtf is up with Simon Cowell's eyes?!

What's better than 1 million in the bank?

Two million.

Yeah, but these guys have got tens (or hundreds in Cowell's case) of millions and will always be earning from various royalties etc. There's no need for them to make these adverts.

You don't get rich by turning down easy money.

And they didn't get to be a multi-millionaire by not making money at every opportunity they could.

Probably only took an hour out of their day and the ad producers likely went to them. Guessing it was a case of "I'm free then, might as well. Summat to do".

Yesss these adverts are driving me insane! I assume they must be paying them a ton. The game is probably only artificially popular because of this huge advertising campaign which appears to be aimed at older generations whose only exposure to videogames is the whole candy crush genre. So perhaps seeing these 'celebrities' playing the game will entice them.

Why they feel the need to advertise to me though, I have no idea. I'm never going to play that game.

One thing to consider is not to underestimate mobile games. They make a lot of money. A lot. No, more than that. Also keep in mind how little cost they put in it besides advertising.

I want to punch that fuckin king's dumb-fucking face. Also I'll never play an app that purposely makes ads that have you fail or lose (CaN yOu Do BeTtEr???)

Not only do I not understand, I think trying might do a little damage. Fame is a mental health hazard.

Luckily I've managed to escape these (ad and tracker blockers ftw), but it sounds a lot like the coin master rubbish featured in an old Jarvis Johnson video.

The guy actually composing a song for it though. Are the royal match ads as bad as these?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Omg I didn’t know Jarvis did a video about this!

I hope he does one about Royal Match. I’m so tired I’ve seeing the guy from Suits in the middle of the Grindr grid selling a crappy mobile game.

You could suggest it to him. He might!

I feel like I'm the only person who has never heard of this before. Is my ad blocker just working better than other people's?

Weirdly enough, this game is better than several others and doesn't come with ads or online requirements. You can win levels without having to spend a penny.

But ads are freaking annoying and horribly made.

Nice try, Simon Cowell
