I'm sorry if I'm not explaining this correctly, but would it be possible to add the option to block a community in the three dot menu while browsing, without having to navigate to the community first? Really loving Liftoff! Thanks for your hard work!

I suggested that here

https://github.com/liftoff-app/liftoff/issues/32

In the mean time you can open the post and block the community from the 3 dot menu there instead of opening the community

Thanks for that!

Great and thanks for the tip!

I just want a blocked community/user to not appear on any feed, not just from Subscribed.

As far as I can tell, that's exactly what the block function does. I haven't blocked any users, but at least I don't see the blocked communities on Local or All. Maybe you are seeing communities with the same names as the ones you blocked, but from different instances?

I haven't been doing Local/All for the past few days so maybe they're gone now with the app update. I guess I'll check!

I second this. I love the openness of the fediverse but I want robust tools to help me navigate it, including the ability to block.

I hope the Lemmy devs implement instance blocking soon as well, I've been playing whack-a-mole with all the porn communities, but most of them are coming from a single nsfw instance that I wish I could just block outright. I know I can disable nsfw content, but there isn't really a distinction made between porn and other types of nsfw content, so I don't really like disabling it all together.
