Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, is to pause plans to use personal data to train artificial intelligence (AI) models after concerns were raised by the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC).

For now, yes. But as more enterprise software (like ERPs) move to the cloud, client-side software will become less and less required. Even Microsoft office is pushing cloud apps. The end result of this, in its current trajectory, is that it won't matter what OS a client has, so long as it has a supported web browser.

Also the rise of containerised software that is more easily cross platform for self hosting what would once have been cloud only.
