Making new frens every day

So I'll take this very heavy patio set, some very long wood planks and this very high item on the very top of the self.

I'll be waiting at the counter. Thank you!

Sir, that is a lab. He will grab that very long wood and drag it to the cash crashing everything in his wake, tho I wouldn't let him take the patio set as he may rip his teeth out trying to get it to the cash. Labs are really great dogs

I'm sure this lab is a really good boi.

But none of this is my problem.

I'm at the hardware store to get a patio set, planks and some items that are sometimes high on the selves.

You might ask for another employee to help you, if you felt your service was unsatisfactory. But you still have to tell the lab that they're a really good boi... the rules are clearly posted on the sign out-front

Another employee, you say? 🦒

I'm allergic to cat's and dog's saliva, and to everyone like me he may stay a good boy, but he can't be a good employee.

P.S. One solution is to give him a little cart

I want to downvote you because like, I love dogs (and cats, too). But like, not being able to love on or get loved on by dogs and cats is way, way worse than any downvote. That’s just a tragic allergy.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

It is, and it doesn't mean i don't love them, i do.

Cats are more manageable to love because they don't lick you, their fur still triggers it but not as much.

I think i got the allergy alongside my love of pets from growing up with the nicest cat ever.

So i'm honestly thinking about trying something to lessen the allergy, that or a hairless cat.

In the U.S. (if you’re in the U.S.), one option is to get allergy shots. And likely other places, but I can’t speak to that.

They do an allergy panel to determine what you’re allergic to and approximately how badly you’re allergic to each thing , then give you injections (usually weekly) of very low, but increasing amounts of the allergens until they feel your reactivity has ceased or decreased to an acceptable level.

I’ve had them. They’re sort of miserable, but they are effective.
They’re miserable because you have to go to the allergist every week, and sit there after the shot until they feel comfortable that you’re not going to have an anaphylactic reaction. But you do have a reaction, and it varies. My average reaction was to spend the next day and a half feeling a bit like I had a cold - sniffles, headache, body aches, and lethargy.
It did, however, ease my allergies significantly.

P.S. one solution is to not go there, and as a bonus you won't feel a need to ruin our joy.

Come on he would definitely be cute with a mini shopping cart!

[–] odigo2020 8 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I am a little confused why that handle doesn't appear to be attached to anything.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Because it's tubing not a handle

[–] odigo2020 8 points 5 months ago

Ohh, that makes sense, thanks.

He isn't a good boy. He is the best boy

The dog is actually security in disguise.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago (1 children)

So.. what happens when there's multiple customers shopping at the same time?

I think this is BS, quite frankly. But it's nice to think about it being real.

You have to get things yourself. Don't work him like a dog!

I think this is BS, quite frankly. But it’s nice to think about it being real.

I mean, I don't see why it wouldn't be real insofar as a local hardware store has a dog, and the dog likes to help (or 'help') customers by carrying things and keeping near them until they reach the checkout.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago

Hm.. true. I'd assume the dog would go a little crazy trying to help all the customers. Next thing you know, you have customer items mixed together at registers, that'll end up being a bit of a headache.
