Hongdian M2 (lemmy.sdf.org)

Was quite impressed with this pocket pen.

All metal body, good clip, smooth steel nib, converter included. All for about £15.

1 and a quarter turn twist cap.

Farting cat finial.

Arguably competing with Kaweco AL sport IMHO.

You're not wrong. Took me a second to realize what they intended it to be.

In the fine tradition of a certain bird poop European brand.

I have to admit that i wasn't the one to notice this. It was a youtube reviewer.

What's the bird poop reference?

Wow, it looks really good. How do you compare the writing with the Kaweco?

It feels different. I have a fine Kaweco sport and a fine Perkeo, and I think they have more feedback than this M2. The M2 also lays a thicker line, despite also being . It's more like a to me.

The thicker line is not so bad. I like the bold ones. With feedback you also mean smoothness? Or just that you can have a better feeling for what you're doing?

Usually "feedback" refers to the presence of a feeling of the roughness of the page. It's not better or worse, just different.

You undersold it.

There are two farting cats!

Heh, mine arrived just this morning in record time (ETA was not for another 3 weeks!). I don't have a Kaweco Sport to compare to since after reading and watching reviews on them, I decided to go with the M2 instead.

I am yet to ink it up (saving that for tonight) but it feels nice in the hand so far and light for a metal pen (I prefer lightweight). I'm looking forward to seeing how flexy/springy the nib writes!

My spouse is jealous mine has a farting cat and his Hongdian Black Forest doesn't 😹

I'd be interested to hear your opinion once you've tried it out.
