I'm fascinated by people's tendencies to anthropomorphize AI & robotics; it's hard to see how this is truly analogous to the human mind and depression.

There is no info is the article which addresses any "mental state" of the robot whatsoever. It seems like someone wrote an entire article to say that glorified roomba fell down the stairs.
