Hello new Lemmy friends!
Word on the street tells us our community is regularly making it the all page. While this is very cool news to hear, we can see how the sudden emergence of our posts in your feed might feel jarring and probably raises some questions. And also how, without knowing the backstory, our community might appear less than virtuous, so hereâs a very brief introduction which hopefully will clear a few things up.
The woman weâre discussing is a body positive influencer and media personality who has gained fame and wealth by lying, manipulating, exploiting her children for content, plagiarizing BIPOC creators and blaming her BIPOC content editor for it (thereby ruining her career), among other things. Her fraudulent behavior is no different (Iâd argue worse) from the likes of Jay Shetty (google him if you donât know who he is or what he did). Sheâs the latest in a long line of grifting influencers who are abusing their power, taking advantage of their position and exploiting their followers. The difference is that sheâs Canadian. Our laws around social media and advertising arenât as clear (and where they are sheâs disobeyed them), add to that, our mainstream media has protected her from those whoâve tried to expose her grift and silenced/intimidated anyone whoâs tried to speak out.
Our Reddit sub was taken down due to reports of copyright infringement, which is unfounded and categorically untrue as no one ever tried to steal her work and pass it off as their own. The mods have made an appeal. While at first glance it may seem like weâre just âshitting on herâ the sub has been more devoted to investigation and posting proof of her lies than just bitching for the sake of bitching. The reality is that sheâs hurt, manipulated and let down a lot of people. She stole intellectual property and employment, caused mental distress and has repeatedly told lies to boost engagement and profit off her audience, so people are understandably upset that their voices are being silenced.

She just posted thatâs itâs become âher lifeâ, sheâs been back for one day, downloaded this game and now itâs her life jfc. She really does make every single thing her personality. Sheâll forget about it in a matter of weeks just like everything else.

I still canât believe she had an office and a team, I canât help but wonder what happened to the team? Did they all jump ship?? Remember when she even had a job posting, I feel like she never filled that (Shane took the part lol).

Exactly! The team and her talking about the pressure of being responsible for the livelihood of all those families has just evaporated. Is there still a team? Did she ever hire that assistant last year? Whatâs going on? Has she replaced the team with Shane and Nana K? Keep the cash in the family?
The cash is staying in the family and there's not exactly a lot to do. The team was for show in Sarah's boss babe era.

Right? I figured people were past PokĂ©mon go by now but nope not Sarah, itâs her life now 8 years late lol.
In my neighbourhood I walk past groups of people generally at the same time weekly that are having Pokemon Go meetups. I wouldn't believe it unless I saw it either. And the only way I know that is what it is, is because they are all on their phones in a largeish group talking about the characters.
It has to be at least ten years old.
Next up sheâs going to discover Geocaching.
I know nothing of this lady. But I was out for lunch the other day. And this blonde chick that looked similar to this lady. Would. Not. Shut. The. Fuck. Up. Honestly. I me and my friend were so infatuated/disturbed we couldnât focus on anything else.
She was going on and on about how someone was claiming she isnât a good mother. Cause her son almost killed himself with a knife she apparently had out in the house. And apparently there are guns around also. And drugs. Oh andâŠ..

As someone who played it when my kid was younger, I will warn you that when you are friends with people on the app, you send gifts that you get from poke stops (like parks you visited). It basically announces to friends (or in her case to strangers) where you have been or where you frequent. Sheâs adding randos from the internet. This is so unsafe. Yes letâs announce the parks and stops we all make WITH KIDS to STRANGERS. This is so stupid. Itâs a fun game, but like be smart about it!
I thought thatâs how it works! She has no sense of personal safety and I find it astounding that a mother of 4 doesnât even try to keep her children safe.
My coworker messaged a friend of hers last year about the dangers of posting kids online and the friend said they should go after the people causing harm, not the people posting. She showed me the screenshots of the dms and thatâs when I unfollowed them. Itâs one thing to post a photo and then people be awful , and itâs another to announce where youâll be, that you have more kids than adults to watch the kids, when your flight it, when youâre out of town. But she wonât speak up for Palestine and other things because allegedly people will doxx her? Even google maps and street maps shows people houses, backyards and DOORS and they donât think a pink flower door can be found? Keep kids OFF public accounts until they are of age AND consent. Period.

I saw a post 2-3 years ago about how easy it is to find someone based on their posts. Sarah has posted her unique front door, pics of her home, neighbors' homes, etc. It took me less than 5 minutes to find her home and address online, and I live far away in a different country. That is some scary shit when you think about the pervs out there. She has posted where her kid's rooms are, where they work, and their schedules. It terrifies me to think about, and they're not even my kids. She has to know. She just doesn't care. I can't understand that.
