2. Be civil
  • Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
  • Do not harrass or attack members of the community for any reason.
  • Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.

  • No porn. Even if you watch it on a Linux machine.
  • 4. No recent reposts
  • Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.

I'm sure they also argue with randos about systemd and down vote any posts about any desktop environments other than the one that they use.

Even if it's the same DE/WM still downvote them, because they're using it wrong.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as X, is in fact, X11/X.Org, or as I've recently taken to calling it, X11 plus X.Org. X11 is not an display server unto itself, but rather a free protocol of a fully functioning X.Org system ...

I took it to mean, people who says "I use *, BTW" so like, "I use Arch BTW" "I use Reddit BTW" "I program in HTML, BTW". Maybe I'm thinking of this wrong, BTW.

I didn't even think about the name of that shitty platform when I jokingly wrote that. Let me be clear that I do NOT use X, btw.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

Holy smokes. Surely no one on lemmy would announce that they still use x! That place is a disaster!

[edit] oh. I get it now. They just meant they don't think Wayland is ready yet. Sorry.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 months ago

    I use Wayland, BTW.

No matter what the post is I suggest they should just use Linux instead.

It’s better than anything else in the universe.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 3 months ago (5 children)

    "I use lube the masturbate"

"You should just use Linux instead. It's better than anything else in the universe." -sturlabragason, definitely

First I somehow understood it like X as ex-twitter, and was like, "whoa, never saw it, bit interesting and kinda unique". Then made connection to Arch, and finally then to X11 /xorg. Huh

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago

    I use FreeBSD, BTW

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago

Ubuntu ain't broke, usually, so I don't fix it.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I've been daily driving the same Arch installation at work without any issues... for the past five years.
