Toyota Gazoo Racing Cologne acting as a manufacturing contractor is hardly a "F1 return", considering that they also work with McLaren which according to Toyota statements continues even after no longer providing the wind tunnel.

You're right, even if they collaborate qith Haas next season as reported that wouldnt be much different to their McLaren relationship.

However:

Further suggestions from Formula.hu claim Toyota perhaps could seek to build their own engine in the future.

That would be the rumored return. But it's not from a reliable source.

That's less than directly asking a representative who then replies "no immediate plans but never say never".
