How to hide posts which have been read.

I am coming from jerboa app and this feels wonderful. However I am unable to mark the posts as Read.

App should I dim the colour of posts which have been Read. Even better if it gives an option to hide them so that same post is not repeated.

I would also like this option. Especially if we are going to have multiples of the some news story on multiple instances.

Yes due to federation post is often repeated on multiple servers.

I checked there is a PR being discussed on GitHub but it's proposing to hide post on swipe right.

Along with that i think simply opening or voting on post should also mark it as Read.

This is one thing I’m missing but I think it’s a lemmy thing…I need to be able to click the … and hide post because there are some you just keep seeing over and over or don’t like.

Dimming posts after seeing is already there in jerboa. They don't have a way to hide it but an issue is open for that too.

I seem to remember Apollo had this. I never realized it until it wasn't there. Just scrolling past would mark a post as read so I didn't have to do anything. An option like that would be great.

Every time I launch wefwef it seems I just keep seeing same same posts.

There's a lemmy setting to hide read posts, but I think you have to upvote/down vote it to count as read. You can't change it within wefwef though, you have to go to your instance web page and then profile settings.

Yes I am already using that but it doesn't mark post read sometimes. It has certain criteria which is not met always. If application gives control to mark hidden and unhide as well it would be best.
