If anyone has a BlueSky invite, feel free to DM me. Elon Musk is making Twitter worse and he is limiting how many tweets people can view.

Same here! Let's all get on BlueSky and get people to join Lemmy!

I have a couple of codes if someone still needs them. DM me.

Actually it’s easier to just put them out there. Enjoy.

It says "account creation is temporarily disabled." Guess I'll just have to wait.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

on the bright side, that's...incredibly funny. musk done fucked up twitter so bad that at least two websites have crashed

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Well, I'm surprised those weren't taken

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Thank you, worked for me!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Well shit, thanks. Didn’t think that would work lol

Something tells me that once BlueSky finally decides to reopen sign-ups, these will all be ganked...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

i only say this because i don't think it's well documented, members only seem to get 1 invite per week iirc, so this is likely a big ask. good luck getting on there. OP!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I hope to get a BlueSky invite soon.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Would like an invite DMed too if possible. Thanks!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Also would love an invite if anyone has one!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I would like one as well if anyone has one going. Will it remain invite only for good or will it eventually be open without?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

BlueSky is currently in beta mode. Hopefully it opens for everyone.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I would also like one if anybody is willing.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

same here, I'd be happy about an invite too!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I'd love one as well if anybody has some spares.

If anyone else reading this thread, I could go for a Bluesky invite.

I've had a Mastodon account for a while, and a Twitter account since 2008. I could always go for more social sites, though.

I would like for someone to DM me a Bluesky invite.

I just recently heard of BlueSky. How is it different from Mastodon? Does it promise to improve on ActivityPub in some way?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

It is releasing its own federated protocol, seems like it does a lot more than activitypub. Your account identity is valid on any instance, for example

BlueSky is a private social media app and a direct competitor to Twitter. It was created by Jack Dorsey, formerly of Twitter, who encouraged and endorsed Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter. (Maybe this was a brilliant double cross.) I think the one difference between Twitter and BlueSky is users of BS (ha, I wonder if they thought of this abbreviation when they named their app) can edit the algorithm on BlueSky.
