idk some people don’t see the point of space anymore and find NASA stuff unnecessary and burning dollars.

This is how far capitalist space exploration gets you if it's left unopposed. Cars being shot into orbit as a marketing stunt are celebrated, but we don't have a pittance of money for science. The system working as intended.
