The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police detained Russian henchmen who set fire to military and volunteer cars in the Kyiv region

The Security Service and the National Police detained an unmarried couple who were carrying out the task of the Russian Federation regarding the arson of Defense Forces cars in the Kyiv region.

According to the case materials, the occupiers recruited a 25-year-old resident of Cherkasy region and his 20-year-old roommate, who were looking for quick money on the Internet, to destroy the vehicles of the Ukrainian defenders.

At the beginning of July of this year, a representative of the aggressor country responded to their "resume" and offered them money in exchange for destroying the vehicles of the Armed Forces.

In order to carry out an enemy mission, the participants arrived at one of the villages on the outskirts of Kyiv, where they were looking for parking places for military vehicles.

After identifying three potential targets, they photographed them and sent them "for approval" to their curator.

After his command, the pair arrived at the specified time at the "required" locations, where they tried to destroy three cars at once during one night.

We are talking about an official minivan of the Armed Forces, as well as a minibus and an SUV, which were brought by volunteers to Ukraine for transfer to the Defense Forces.

While at the scene of the crime, those involved filmed the fire of the motor vehicle in order to later transmit the "report" to the curator.

Employees of the Security Service and the National Police arrested both criminals in a matter of hours "on hot pursuit". The incendiary mixture and mobile phones, through which they received instructions from the aggressor, were seized from the detainees.

According to the investigation, communication between the curator and those involved took place in an anonymous chat of a popular messenger.

So far, the investigators of the Security Service have notified both involved parties of the suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 28 and Part 1 of Art. 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations committed by a group of persons following a prior conspiracy).

The issue of selecting a preventive measure for them is being resolved. Perpetrators face up to 8 years in prison.

The special operation was carried out by SBU employees in the city of Kyiv and the Kyiv region together with the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv regional prosecutor's office.
