Very interesting. I'm surprised at how young Lemmy.World is. My first cake day was yesterday, and apparently Lemmy.World hasn't been around for that much longer than that. I never thought of myself as one of the earlier members until now. (Certainly not as early as some, but I've been here for the significant majority of Lemmy.World's lifespan now, which is kindof cool to think about.)

Why waste space on internet archive for this?

Because it is part of the internet? At the end of the day it is up to the Internet Archive.

Shure but it seems like a waste of space, especially because everything is federated and to get the full stuff you would need to backup all the instances (or at least the top 30 or so)
