As much as I want to see Elon humbled a bit, I would rather the music industry not be getting a dime from this and that schadenfreude be satisfied by pure self destruction.

Let me quote a movie scene, "Let them fight!"

Don’t blame me, I voted for Kodos.

As much as I hate twitter, I think this is a bad thing. As far as I can tell, the suit is about those uploading music to twitter, which counts as sharing of content and shouldn't be illegal.

Unless I am missing something, if the lawsuit went through, it would be a terrible thing for everyone.

I don't like Elon as much as the next person, but I dislike the music industry cronies even more. Yeah, I'd agree this is bad.

When I read the article basically every other social platform has struck licensing deals with record companies because it adds monetary value to their sites... they aren't trying to stop content creators they are trying to get a piece of the money pie Facebook, youtube and twitch make off of content that's uploaded... I don't know if it would have further reaching consequences but Twitter was in the middle of a deal when Elon took over and somehow this got pushed to the side and the record companies are now suing twitter...

Twitch actually ran into a similar issue just recently, IIRC. I don't recall if it ever made it to court, though. https://www.theverge.com/2020/10/26/21534983/riaa-copyright-twitch-streamers-licensing-letter

It's unclear here if you are using "should" in the descriptive or prescriptive.

Yup, as much as Vulcan hates Elon, music industry is even more greedy.
