Women’s marathon shaping up to be an interesting race. Halfway through and we’ve had multiple big shifts. Two Australians out front right now. Would absolutely love to see them win it.
Poor French woman who spent a while out the front off the group earlier has now unfortunately fallen off the back of the group.
Unsurprisingly the Aussies also ended up falling behind, leaving the win to the Netherlands (with a new Olympic record!), Ethiopia, and Kenya.
Aussies earn bronze in an excellent performance in the basketball bronze medal match against Belgium.
Amusingly, due to the highly stop-prone nature of basketball (especially towards the end of a match), the last 5 minutes of play took over 16 minutes of real time.
