My poor medieval history professor loves viking age things. He's white, and bald... and completely gay. I think he has Mjølnir ear-rings and small tattoos or something. He gets shit for it because people sometimes assume viking=nazi. ;-;
Its use by neo-Nazis is well-documented. Perhaps it's not a 100% sure sign on its own, as accurately noted by the ADL, but combined with the Black Sun, there's no other interpretation.
It's used by everyone because it's a cool symbol with stories behind it.
But It's Scandinavian. It's our old pantheon.
Even if every two-bit bodybuilder, skinhead or hippy wears a Thor's Hammer or have Odin's Spear tattooed on them, it's not and should never be associated with anything political or religious outside of the Scandinavian countries and their people.
