Swipe image away function seems intermittent (lemmy.world)

Just noticed after this last update that if you look at an image you can no longer swipe it up or down to make it go away. Went to settings to see if it was a issue with how I have Memmy set up and it would seem the gestures area is non existent

Yeah this has been a problem for a while. Some images can’t be swiped away.

Also, I’d like to add a request for image galleries. Right now, when more than one image is attached to a post, only the first one shows up. I’d like to be able to swipe between images or swipe downward to exit the gallery.

+1 to swipe image away. I’m also unable to save or copy images from the app anymore after this latest update.

It is possible, but the swipe needs to be “aggressive”. But i agree, it needs some adjustments to be more intuitive.
