I really don't want to be defending this guy, but reading what he said is kinda confusing.

"Iran, or, Israel's ability to be able to defend itself is absolutely fundamental, getting its hostages back, fundamental, and ending the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. But the expansion of Israel and its proxies is an absolute, fundamental necessity for the United States to have the steady leadership there."

Emphasis mine. His "but" seems to be in contradiction to all his direct "fundamental, period. Fundamental, period." I hate the short time these stupid debates give people because he really needs to fucking explain what "steady leadership" is supposed to mean there. Are we going to try to stop Isreals attempts to expand? I didn't really read that as directly connected to his positive affirmation of what he said was fundamental before it.

I was honestly wavering a little bit about just choking it down and voting for them just to deny the far right the smallest hint of victory, but this debate absolutely resolidified my resolve to vote "none of these candidates" (no PSL or even Greens on my state's ballot). The whole thing was just horrifyingly ghoulish--both of them were competing to show that they would be the best and most efficient at doing fascism. I could feel my radicalism meter hitting even greater heights. Fuck right off. Death to America.
