The starting animation was hella weird but the normal parts look great.

Weird in a bad way or just different? I remember liking the animation in the PV a while back.

They're definitely trying to show off their 3d compositing, it's pretty unique but it's wayyy over stylised in the introduction. I think they'll tone it down as the series goes on and find the middle ground that works.

Hair physics are whack though, like the whole show exists in a tornado.

Sadly a drop for me at the moment. I like rom-coms but the 3d composite art style bundled with the male MC that gets a heart attack because a girl looks at him kills the show for me.

I really wanted this to be a good adaptation, but yeah, I can also see why someone would drop it after this episode.

Even excusing the animation, they really shoehorned Komura into this dumb archetype of a desperate boy. Sure, he was a bit like that in the manga at the beginning, but it didn't stand out as much in comic form.

Giving it 3 more episodes.

He's a bit exaggerated but I hope it tones down a touch. I guess the same applies for the pretty out there animation in the 3d composite scenes. It looks like they've figured out a really cool tech for it but not how to use it properly yet.

Also giving it 3 episodes, but I'm such a sucker for this type of show so I'll probably finish it anyway.
