Imagine being a "party official" for the very party that would "crack down" on you for your reading list.
Any ideology that bans books is self-evidently intellectually and philosophically bankrupt.

- Aldous Huxley was right[1] What Orwell feared were those who would ban books. What Huxley feared was that there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one. Orwell feared those who would deprive us of information. Huxley feared those who would give us so much that we would be reduced to passivity and egoism. Orwell feared that the truth would be concealed from us. Huxley feared the truth would be drowned in a sea of irrelevance.
I wouldn't consider it an ideological thing, but more of a strategic decision by Xi et al.
But why ban Hilary Clinton's book? What sort of crazed ideology would be there that could be a threat to the current government?
neoliberalism and "liberal internationalism", also known as austerity, IMF debt, coups d'etat, getting bombed by NATO and signing Status of Forces Agreements
So why is the ideology so dangerous that it is banned?
Ask Libyans in specific case of Clinton and everyone in global south about neoliberalism in general. It should be treated exactly like nazism in Nuremburg.
