Google Chrome for Android can finally open PDF files on its own without needing a third-party app, and you can try this feature now.

Same reaction here... It shows that for mobile browser Mozilla is more serious about it. Maybe being installed by default and their hegemony on desktop make Google more complacent...

Android's firefox PDF viewer is very laggy though

Firefox works fine for me so I'll stick to it. Chrome will have annotation support for those that need it though.

Google also had a lightweight PDF reader decoupled from Google Drive but it looks like it's no longer available: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.pdfviewer
