My favourite berlusconi moment was when a protestor bashed him in the face with a tiny replica of the colloseum.

It was not the Colosseum, but the Milan cathedral.

That would be a replica of "Duomo di Milano", the central church of Milan. The assaliant was mentally unstable so it wasn't as much a political statement as we'd like.

He still broke his nose though.

I preferred him to be castrated and left to die in his feces, but one less but now almost meaningless problem for Italian politics I guess.

Any ideas what the implications might be for the governing coalition? Any chances this will lead to some sort of trouble or realignment?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Forza Italia had an 8% share last elections so I don't think it matters a lot. We'll most likely see a bunch of defection to the other two coalition parties and nothing else

Oh no! Anyways.

Crazy how long he was still active in politics. He could have retired ages ago…

Good riddance!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

There are already 100 other Berlusconi like people trying to get the power like he had. One passing away doesn't change human nature.

Couldn't have happened to a better person.
