The article reeks of china hawkery. It’s basically goes ‘What if biotech… but Chinese’. China invested substantial effort and capital into their efforts they should be allowed to reap the benefits of their labour. If certain countries don’t like it then they should invest into their own efforts.

The whole point is that there is a lack of ethics in China. Me saying that doesn't mean China is the only one, just one with means and ability.

How to use this, and what to do with it, need to be discussed globally. Because whatever is done with it will have far reaching impacts.
