Posting Guidelines

Any websites directing to PC hardware available in Canada, please provide essential information, sale price and savings details (rebates, coupons, bundles, etc.).

Posting good deals with no significant reductions or savings of some sort is fine.

Check the item is in stock and available for purchase online at the time of posting.

Mark it has expired by following these steps.

Titles Titles should be formatted as follows:

Price Breakdown Round up ($29.99) to the nearest dollar ($30).

Price matching your products can save you a lot of money. Several websites (Memory Express, Future Shop, Best Buy, Staples etc...) give such service.

Mail In Rebates

The date given for a Mail In Rebate is the date the item must be purchased by. It must be postmarked (basically stamped / mailed by Canada Post) within ~30 days[1] from the purchase date.

As you might see, we've had a multiple spam posts that made it through Reddit and got reposted by the bot. There was no way to determine if a post was spam or not.

To partially alleviate this, I added a ignore list here: https://github.com/poutinetown/reddit-sales-repost-bot/blob/main/ignored.txt

If you want to add something, please make a pull request (very easy with GitHub UI, you can learn here) that only modifies the ignored.txt file by adding a new line, and briefly describe the reasoning.

If you feel a URL has been unjustly added there, please open an issue and I will remove if it makes sense. So far, the URLs were based on the removed posts.

Awesome! As I've said previously, it's tough to manage priorities of timely posting to catch good deals while avoiding spam. Hopefully this will help prevent some of the offtopic stuff from getting through.

As long as the list is well maintained, the spam will at least not make it to here twice!
