Comer said in his opening statement that Biden family members and their associates "raked in over $20 million between 2014 and 2019" from foreign sources. "What were the Bidens selling to make all this money? Joe Biden himself," he said.

James Comer raped and murdered a dozen preschoolers between 2003 and 2014.

The proof? Well I don't have any yet, that's why I have to tear his life apart, obviously!

Love the energy, but the sad reality is that Conservatives don't care about a dozen preschoolers being raped and murdered. The only thing that they care about is being part of the "in" group and that the "in" group is winning. I don't know how you convince them that a person isn't part of the "in" group. I think it can only be done by a prominent member of the "in" group denouncing them.

Say its a dozen fetuses...that'll get their attention

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Maybe... I'm not convinced most conservatives give two shits about fetuses. They just like that punishing abortion injures more of the "out" group than the "in"

They gotta get a little older first

Let's not let pesky things like facts get in the way!

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., said the hearing would focus on whether the president "engaged in impeachable offenses under the U.S. Constitution," and earlier this week said House Republicans would present evidence they say they've uncovered about "Biden’s knowledge of and role in his family’s domestic and international business practices."

The ranking Democrat at the hearing, Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., said his Republican colleagues were presenting 12,000 pages of bank records that didn't include a "single dime" going to the president.

Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Ill., meanwhile, asked Turley about his past support of polygamy and O'Connor about her social media posts, including one that appeared to be promoting a fundraiser for so-called "alternate electors" who've been charged in Michigan.

The White House spokesperson for oversight and investigations, Ian Sams, suggested in a statement Tuesday that Republicans such as Comer and Jordan are simply trying to distract from the looming government shutdown that could begin this weekend if Congress fails to pass a spending bill.

“Do Comer and Jordan have any explanation for why they are prioritizing conspiracy theory attacks on President Biden over averting a government shutdown that would inflict real pain on Ohio and Kentucky workers and families?

The impeachment inquiry got underway Sept. 12 when House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., directed three committees to launch the investigation in an effort to access the bank records for Biden and his son.

The original article contains 978 words, the summary contains 230 words. Saved 76%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!

I mean, he didn't have much power during this time, and most of it he didn't even have a job. I would be making money off of my name, too. Isn't that what all politicians do when they aren't in office?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 10 months ago

If it that were true, which isn't tied to this case, nothing that has been done is illegal. There is no payment to Joe Biden, period.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Trump was making money off his name while he was in office, only fair that biden do it too.

Think of the beans 😂

Being a politician or related to one doesn’t give you the right to take barely veiled bribes just because you dont want to get a real job like some peasant.

Do all politicians do it? Yeah. Do I think that makes it right? No. Is this just a blatantly hypocritical republican smear campaign that ultimately won’t go anywhere? Absolutely.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

What do you allege Joe Biden or his family was bribed to do while Joe Biden was a private citizen?

[–] [email protected] -1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

Bribes don’t have to be for a specific thing you want right this second dude. Garnering favor with those close to or in power doesn’t need an explicit predefined goal. Just because he wasn’t holding public office at the time doesn’t mean he didn’t have any political power, or that it was somehow unlikely that he’d ever hold a public office again.

Bribery has to be for something specific.

I agree, but it's not bribery of Joe Biden if someone gives a gift to his son.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

Well they couldn’t exactly hire Joe himself. Giving his embarrassing son a well paying do nothing job far away from the US to keep him out of trouble could be seen as a gift, depending on his level of involvement.

Comer said in his opening statement that Biden family members and their associates "raked in over $20 million between 2014 and 2019" from foreign sources. "What were the Bidens selling to make all this money? Joe Biden himself," he said. “This deserves investigation,” Comer said later.

... So? Joe Biden wasn't an elected official.

House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, called it “a tale as old as time. Politician takes action that makes money for his family and then he tries to conceal it.”

As above, during that time frame, Joe Biden wasn't an elected official, hence not a politician. Jordan's quip should instead read, "Person takes action that makes money for his family, and there's nothing wrong with that."

And that's only if the allegations they're making are true.

OMG! House GOP’s impeachment witnesses say there's...evidence...that Biden committed a crime

Yes, those were words
