I’m waiting on the articles two years from now where google annunces that they’re not going to fulfil this promise because Reasons.

I'm looking forward to the eventual teardown when we get to see how easy it is to swap the battery

Would be a pleasure if you could take it out from the back instead of having to rip out the screen.

That and a replacable usb c port.

Google being Google, I’ll believe it when I’ll see it.

How does this compare to the Fairphone 5 and their promise of updates and parts? Trying to figure out what's best for my money

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (3 children)

ive been looking at the farphone 5. the battery life is terrible unfortunately

Is that from GSMArena's review or elsewhere? Their test wasn't very promising, I have to say.

i was disapointed i wanted to get the 5 but it seems the chip they used is more for industrial use so it doesnt fair well in mobile devices when it comes to battery, i can live with crappy camera, but not a crappy battery life. guess ill have to wait for the 6

Battery life doesn't matter on the Fairphone 5 when you can swap the battery in seconds.

im not carrying around extra batteries just so i can get through the day, battery life is a deal breaker for me, but not you obviously

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Dang that sucks. I'm already having battery issues with my S21 so I was hoping the Fairphone would be better

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

That's great, just hope they live up to the promise. I remember having a Note 3 with swappable batteries, but 3 years later all I could get was crappy 3rd party batteries.

BTW, any info about pixel watch update policy?

This is what I wanted to hear. My P4 battery is at 83%, but that's a pretty noticeable difference from when I purchased the phone.

I hope the P8 gets good reviews.
