3 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
My typical setup for a F1 race day. Wonderful shave.
6/18/23 🐐
7 razors, 7 sets of Mammoth. I've reached the end and saved the best for last. Hygge is just phenomenal. It's one of those sets I wish I would've tried a lot sooner and one that will most definitely be refilled when it runs out. It's hard for me to pick out any one note in it, as I'm always just captivated by the entirety of it. Hygge is a solid 10/10.
I'm proud of all the razors I have in my rotation. I have some really nice razors imo, like the Gen 1 Fili or Celebrated W&B, but this Ralf Aust is 🐐. Hands down. I am just completely in love with it and have been since the moment I held it. Its size, shape, scales and performance. This is the razor I picture giving my son his first straight shave with, and one day giving to him. I truly hope it makes it that far. I touched up the edge on a Shobu Kiita last night and todays shave was just wonderful. Smooth and light each stroke on each pass. Close and comfortable shave, no nicks or irritation.
Nice razor! How do you like it, and do you have a picture?
It's great! It's actually my third Koraat (I also have an 8/8 near wedge "basic" and a 7/8 full hollow "purist"...it's safe to say I'm an addict). Here are some pics Ulrik took (hopefully they upload OK):
Very cool! I had imagined the mammoth ivory more white-ish, and less creamy. I'm jelous!
Same actually, it didn't look quite how I expected but it actually has some very fine grain patterns that don't show up well in the pictures. With the way it's finished it almost looks more like some kind of shiny gem stone than bone, but maybe that's how ivory always looks. I also have a Ralf aust that I put bison bone scales on and they definitely look more matte and "boney" for lack of a better word...

Going for 50? 100?
I didn't plan on pushing this blade so long, but my Legacy shaves are so smooth and easy that I'm inclined to keep going until that changes. Don't want to ruin a good thing just because I would normally bin a blade around 40 shaves.
I've been using Proraso for a long time but this might have been the best lather I have ever gotten from the soap. I think I'm going to have to attribute it to the power of MOAR F'N BOAR.
Time to get caffeinated and get people swinging in another aerial yoga class. Have a great day all!
Great shave today. I found the Old Spice shaving bowl online and bought it for tradition’s sake. It took more work to build a lather than the LinkIdea bowl with the textured bottom. I think tomorrow I’ll try a different Chiseled Face sample. Something different would be nice. Have a great Father's Day, everybody!

Very nice shave overall. I've been very impressed with this ASCO I blade. Going to use it again tomorrow in the same razor

Great shave
Seas spice lime.
That is all.
Without even a razor? You must have attained enlightenment.
There was a razor and a brush but all should bow before the greatness of SSL.
Gillette NEW type and yaqi 26mm rainbow synthetic if you really wants to know.
Too hot. Get rid of the SP.

Really digging Isacco as a frag. Decided to not buy a tub of the soap because I really struggle with soft soaps.

Happy Father's Day to the fathers. This was an enjoyable shave.
The Guerilla is milder and more efficient than I remember it being, although that's not to say I got a super close shave. It's close enough for me, but maybe not close enough for some people.
I haven't tried the New & Improved Guerilla which has a larger gap and probably feels less mild, but surely it's more efficient than the Gen 1.
Sunday's shave (ok I put this off a sec) was a nice old French razor. Heavier, nearly a near wedge. I hadn't been quite happy with the edge so I touched it up ...still not there yet alas. Seems it takes me forever to get a wedge-ish thing where I like it if I don't do a microbevel. This one had thin-ish bevels with a bit more forgiving grind so I thought I might have better luck but it's not looking like it. I even took it down to a coticule with some slurry rather than just a light touch up on a JNAT w/tomo. Will probably end up redoing it from bevel set, only way to make sure. Orrrr... ya, microbevel.
Probably wasn't the best idea to continue my before-shower experiment with this one as the poor edge needed all the help it could get. Still wound up sticking through the shave without major trauma. And I think I'm getting the idea: shower softens whiskers but skin too so sans shower my skin seems to put up with a bit more abuse.
I was in a hurry and not very inspired, so I repeated yesterday's shave
