Been 16 days since I last checked Reddit. Lemmy has been a refreshing experience.

I go there just to read about the state of affairs regarding Reddit itself.
I stopped entirely. When I draw a fanart of something I'll post it, but I haven't drawn any fanart recently.
Almost never.
Sometimes when I need to troubleshoot or am looking for specific information, then I will add reddit. It still shines there.
But don't have a login anymore and I don't visit daily. Lemmy has become my main now.
Only if a google search takes me there. I have no way or desire to view reddit otherwise.
I still look, but mostly to: a) Keep up with the Oakland Athletics fan protest efforts as the A's sub is where that really got coordinated with the larger community b) Try to figure out if some of the oddball subs I am on there and enjoyed have equivalents here, on the Matrix, Telegraph, etc.
I feel like I will kill my account there once those things are resolved enough to make Reddit fully pointless for me.
I've looked maybe a handful of times over the past couple weeks, mostly to look at /r/modcoord and /r/save3rdpartyapps. Even then, I used libreddit. Other than that, I've not visited for really any other reason.
Lemmy + Mastodon is doing a good enough job being my daily time waster. There's definitely less content here but I am but one man, it's not like I could go through all of Reddit's bot-generated daily content anyway.
Nope. Deleted my account and moved in at sh.itjust.works signed in on jerboa and never looked back.
No.
No. Haven't touched it since they killed 3rd-party apps and don't intend to (exception are Google search results, though I use Teddit as a frontend there.
Yeah unfortunately. There are some subs that haven't migrated over yet and some subs that are active that have really useful info for me (school, language learning, etc.)
After everything went down and Sync stopped, my usage dropped considerably. I was still using Joey and Infinity for light browsing, but I haven't really browsed Reddit in about a week and have been on Lemmy and Kbin exclusively. I feel more engaged here too.
Browsing Reddit just seemed different, like the quality of posts and comments dropped considerably.
Nah, sometimes google tries to make me enter but I just scroll a lil more and use any other result.
I I still use it on desktop since I can still use the old design and I run several layers of adblock.
On mobile I basically never use it now unless a search result forces me to it. Lemmy needs work, but I've gotten it to a usable state in mobile.
I really home Baconreader makes a lemmy version because that was the only way I used reddit mobile.
Iβm currently in the process of replacing Reddit with Lemmy. Iβm keeping Reddit for the sole purpose of being linked there from Google Results and until I get used to Lemmy, how it works, and find communities that are relevant to me.
I do find Lemmy interesting in how , despite being in an instance, you can still see posts from other instances and such. I am still getting used to it, so will keep Reddit around until I am completely accustomed to it.
I deleted my account 1st July. I won't lie there is still a couple of subreddits I'll check out through old.reddit, but mostly due to a recent crush on John Oliver.
Yes, though to a much lesser extent than I used to. Sometimes itβs just through web searches that lead to Reddit, though I use Libreddit front-end for that.
And other times, itβs specific subreddits about TV shows. The level and frequency of discussion on Lemmy sadly is not there yet for popular shows, and nonexistent for niche shows.
Got a couple niche subs I still check once in a while. Otherwise I don't read reddit anymore nor do I comment and vote.
No, and I blocked it on my DNS server so I don't accidentally go there either
Lemmy still has some issues that need to be addressed for it to fully replace Reddit for my needs
Be honest, do you still use reddit?
Yes, but much less than I used to. When I donβt have a particular goal in mind and just want to doomscroll a bit, I find myself checking Lemmy first, and only if I run out of things to read, which I usually donβt, do I move on to Reddit.
There are still some niche communities that are active on Reddit and not here. So I do still go over there on purpose for those.
In the rare case I need a result that I can't find anywhere else. Otherwise, nah. The way Spez treated the Apollo dev disgusted me enough that I want nothing to do with that site anymore.
Nope! Not once since the blackout began.
I slipped maybe twice by accident via google search results but thatβs it. Until I need to get opinions to buy something it will be okay I guess.
I don't scroll through reddit anymore but will use it if a friend shares a link or when looking for something. It was hard the first few days as I found myself opening Sync only to be greeted by the goodbye message. Safe to say I was quite addicted to doom scrolling but happy to have stopped.
Been using Jerboa for 2 weeks now and have not doom scrolled yet, feels good
I stopped by once to double check my stuff was still deleted.
I drop by Reddit 1-2 times per day but only at home on my PC and using old.reddt. There are still a couple of communities on there that haven't moved to lemme yet.
And my porn account.
No I gave reddit this Reson why I deleted my reddit "I'm done with all the oooo we want money for are investors and so we can go public so lest raise the api price and then foreseeable reopen subreddits that Locked themselves for a protest then say if you don't like it then we will find people who do"
I've popped over a couple times too see what floats to the top of all (or whatever it is that's displayed when you don't log in), and a couple more times when I did a search and Reddit's answers were part of the results set. But I honestly can't be missing that much since every other soc media site I look at has at least half of their threads linking back to something that originated on Reddit.
I clicked by accident on a few links on Feddit that lead to Reddit (people should post archive links instead) and closed the site without reading immediately, otherwise I am clean since I made this account on June 12. I do still miss Reddit a bit, but I will not go back, no matter what the site does. I also reduced my online time drastically which is doing wonders for my mental health and how much I get done in my household.
No. I've checked my inbox and profile page several times, but that's it. Reddit is dead to me.
Occasionally, but always logged out and with an adblocker. It seems to get worse every time I check it.
I still check out a couple hobby subs every day or two (via mobile browser, not the app). And if I'm looking for a certain type of information or advice, im still typing "[info desired] reddit" into google.
no
Until yesterday, Joey for Reddit still worked, but since today it doesn't anymore. I miss r/BestOfRedditorUpdates, so I'll probably use it just for that sub.
nope
Not really, since I went back once or twice but then realised how little value I get from there and how much time I waste there. I also try to reduce my time on lemmy but at least everything is new and fresh here.
Lemmy exclusively on my phone (Memmy app) and reddit occasionally when on my PC.
Yes, just a lot less because theres no app for it, so I only check it from a desktop PC instead of constantly the way I have in the past.
Maybe it's just me but the volume of interesting posts has fallen off a cliff after July 1st. The front page has much less activity and noticably more of it is reposts (which were there before, just a much higher ratio now).
The niche subreddits were always the key draw though, those still only exist on Reddit and nowhere else on the internet.
Occasionally, after seeing something in the news regarding Reddit, I will use libreddit.kavin.rocks to see if that news, or any other negative press is anywhere on r/all.
Most recently was about them removing rewards and coins, and prior to that was code in the app that appears to allude to a cash for karma reward system.
Not really. The only time I ever go to reddit is if I want info about a really niche subject and the post is usually several years old anyway.
Just checked today and found out that they decided to rob all users of their coins.
Unfortunately some topic specific subs haven't made the jump to Lemmy yet, so for those I still have to check there occasionally
I usually check the subreddit redditmobile to see if they actually fixed the app.
Edit: But yea, honestly I probably wonβt go back to Reddit. Lemmy seems to be a great alternative.
Yes and No.
Smaller communities with no equivalent, I'm there and still active. Technology, memes and world news, I'm here. But I'm also on other sites more again.
I still check some subs, like recent infos on the war in ukraine. And some others that have not catches up in terms of activityβ¦
But itβs getting less and less. I also open Apollo less frequently, realising that it doesnβt work anymore
No. Have not logged for weeks and can't think of any good reason to go back.
