That's not an anti-personnel mine, that's an anti-vehicle mine. Personnel mines are designed to maim not destroy because the other soldiers now need to provide aid to an immobilized member of their unit.

I thought it needed more weight to trigger, but there's probably more mine types in Ukraine than I can fathom.

Yeah, I should have said "probably not an anti-personnel mine". And like you said, there's probably so many more varieties of mines being laid than we can speculate on.

I doubt it is an AT mine. If you watch it until the end you can see that he is actually relatively intact lying on the ground when the smoke clears. The bits flying off is probably mainly his gear and clothing (plus possibly some extremities).
