By 2050, movies would become vertical and under 1 minute long.

I hate the people who have allowed this to become popular.

They have to be longer, allowing extra time for bullshit nonsense telling us to smash that like and subscribe button.

like today how movies are 6 hours long but only 4 of them are Scorsese jerking off?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 10 months ago

Killers of the Flower Moon did feel like it was an entire day long.

They will be made horizontal but converted to vertical by putting subway surfers gameplay underneath

It sounds like a one minute movie to me

Nice try, but all movies by 2050 will be strings of 15 second advertisements that just share a common cast.

While a mincraft speedrun plays on a separate screen

Aren't Disney movies already advertisements?

It doesn't sound too far-fetched, I stopped watching MCU stuff with Age of Ultron and have never seen a Star Wars movie. If you told me that the next big release (probably not the Marvels because nobody seems to care about that) ended with a Star Wars crossover tease I would absolutely believe you. And all that Spiderman stuff HAS happened as far as I know, just with figuratively jerking each other off rather than literally.

“Be sure to collect your complimentary jar of Captain America™ or Brigadier General Marvel™ sauce on the way out. Creamy Alfredo with a hint of pineapple or spicy warm marinara, you decide!” *note acceptance of sauce constitutes acceptance of terms and conditions for Disneylife™

“The Disneys”

Bold of then to assume movies by then won't be full-on advertisements for the most useless products that have a 90000% price markup. And that they'll last more than a minute as to accommodate the average attention span being so atrocious that focusing on anything will be impossible.

It's already here. It's called the Michael Bay Transformer movies.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 10 months ago

You need to clarify if you meant Champions of Europe or Captain Britain specifically.

Relatable post, I kind of loathe the MCU and all those boring formulaic movies.

I have news for you about... all fiction in history. No one reads pulp fiction novels from 100 years ago anymore, but they were very popular.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 10 months ago

I'm sure there were people dunkin' on Homer for his boring, formulaic poems

[–] [email protected] 10 points 10 months ago

This is gold MeatCanyon material

[–] [email protected] 8 points 10 months ago

Not enough twitch and Fortnite and emoji references.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

By then, Sony and Morbius will have been owned by Disney too

[–] [email protected] 6 points 10 months ago

Disney will be the only one left and the only one allowed to release movies. All movies are Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar Cars & Toy Story sequels.

The saddest part about all the posts in this thread is that not only are they realistic, but literally all it takes to prevent that stuff from happening is not buying into it... But we will. We will...
