I enjoyed the Jasmine tea and the white tea, which tasted like incense smells. The green tea tasted like spinach and the oolong didnt taste like much. The fermented tea tasted like cut grass. The Cardamom Ceylon black tea didnt have a strong flavor at first but with sweetener, the cardamom really pops. I had hoped that I would like tea unsweetened so that I would have a healthy beverage but it is either no strong enough, bitter, or tastes like plant. To be fair, only the cheap store brand tea has been bitter. Any suggestions for teas to try that are more on the fruity, nutty, floral, or spice teas?

You said oolong tea didn't taste like much, hmm i would diagree. But well we have maybe different taste but either i would recommend milky oolong, it could be better for you or if you want fruity tea go in the flavored green (or black) tea direction adding some fruit flavor.

And another hint, if a tea is to bitter, maybe go down a bit on the temperature (only for oolong and green tea).

This was based one the tea prepared for me by my local chinese tea shop. I have not had any problems with bitterness since getting loose leaf that was not Kroger. I was shocked that tea generally isnt bitter because I made the mistake of buying kroger. It is isnt even the cheapest I have but it is by far the most bitter.

I rather don't feel like it has not much taste but rather the sane taste (to me).
I personally prefer green roasted teas like Gunpowder, Long Jing etc. that have more of an individual and stronger profile.
But I also prefer more white needle teas.

Luckily every variety has it's fans :)

Ha, you are in both communitues as well. I hope it doesnt seem like spam to post the same thing in multiple sublemmies but they are all so small that it seems like it is the only way to be seen.

You could cross-post it ;)
And yeah by being a part of both I get all the tea content. Else it's too fragmented.
