Any specific reason for an alternative?
OpenStreetMap community
Everything #OpenStreetMap related is welcome: software releases, showing of your work, questions about how to tag something, as long as it has to do with OpenStreetMap or OpenStreetMap-related software.
OpenStreetMap is a map of the world, created by people like you and free to use under an open license.
Join OpenStreetMap and start mapping: https://www.openstreetmap.org.
There are many communication channels about OSM, many organized around a certain country or region. Discover them on https://openstreetmap.community
https://mapcomplete.org is an easy-to-use website to view, edit and add points (such as shops, restaurants and others)
https://learnosm.org/en/ has a lot of information for beginners too.
They could be changing platforms from Android to iOS?
I would recommend checking out https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/StreetComplete#See_also for some alternatives.
Good luck!
SCEE is a fork of Street Complete with more features for advanced mappers. Available on F-Droid!
What features do you seek? There's Every Door that overlaps in editing certain features like building tags or some nodes like benches. Its's a lot more granular and allows for adding nodes. I think the two apps complement each other well.
It's only in german language?
No both apps are multilingual. If a language is missing it can be added since they are foss apps and in active development
similar Android Open Source Apps (from more similar to less similar):
- SCEE (StreetComplete Fork with more features)
- OpenStop (dedicated tasks for public transport)
- EveryDoor (different concept mainly for POIs)
- Vespucci (full OpenStreetMap Editor)
- OsmAnd (Navigation with respect to data gathered by StreetComplete, POI search/adding/editing)
https://mapcomplete.osm.be is a website where you can easily update and add new points to OSM. It is my favourite (because I'm also the one making it).
Instead of seeing everything at once, you get to choose many thematic maps, depending on what is interesting to you (e.g. 'shops', or 'restaurants', or 'cycling related stuff', or 'what is this street named after', ...)
