For owls that are superb.

WINNER: SCREECH OWL 19-17

The ESO has to be a fan favorite. Tiny, comes in 3 colors, plumicorns, great vocalizations, this owl has so much going for it.

On the other side, we have the Crested Owl. This wildcard from Central and South America probably isn't familiar to you, but it takes much of what people love about the Screech Owl and cranks it to 11. Only member of genus Lophostrix, this little owl has HUGE plumicorns. Will it's flashy style be able to defeat such strong opposition?

Those are some superb owls.

They are! It was so hard to just pick 32 out of the over 250 species of owls, let alone to pick the number 1 owl!

Hoping for an upset here. Those plumicorns are massive.

Screech has such popularity it's going to be tough to beat, but I feel Crest has a fighting chance moreso than a lot of other owls would.

I'm not sure if the tough choice is keeping people away from this one vs the bigger response in the Barn vs BLowl or what. This is a tough one to start with, but I feel it's only going to get tougher ahead once it's all big name owls.

I feel like the screech owl that lives near my house will get mad if I don't vote for him/her, but--those floofy tufts tho.

This is a tough round. I'm still curious to see if the non-US votes coming up are going to turn it around for the Crested Owl.
